Dr Tanveer Chohan is a Consultant Dermatologist at Midland Skin. He is on the specialist register for Dermatology and also holds an NHS post as a Consultant Dermatologist.

Dr Chohan is passionate about diagnosing and treating skin, hair and nail problems in adults and children.

He has a friendly approach and understands the impact skin changes can have on the quality of life of his patients.

Training

To become a Consultant Dermatologist, he first studied medicine at the University of Birmingham and then completed Dermatology Specialist Training in the West Midlands. His journey to become a Dermatologist took 11 years after completing 5 years at medical school.

He has been awarded a CCT in Dermatology, which means he is one of only a few hundred doctors in the UK to be on the GMC Specialist register for Dermatology. This is the highest standing for a Dermatologist.

He has worked at leading Dermatology units such as the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Additional information

Dr Chohan keeps up to date with the latest dermatological research for the benefit of his patients. He is a co-editor for the Clinical and Experimental Dermatology Journal, which has an international readership.

He has also been an investigator in numerous clinical trials. He regularly presents his work at international conferences and has won an international prize for his research on the psychological impact of laser therapy.

Dr Chohan regularly trains junior doctors in the art and science of being a good Dermatologist.

He holds an honorary role at the University of Birmingham, where he provides mentorship for medical students.

Dr Chohan takes pride in his communication, empathy and dedication to providing the highest standards of care.
